Putting a sling on.

• Un-tie sling
• Place sling on with opening of sling facing out
• 
• Make sure padding is on outside for the cradle carry
•

• Sling fabric is flat on your back and not rolled
• Place seam in the front of you where you can see it
• You can now see a pocket formation inside where your baby with fit into

Putting a baby inside the sling (cradle carry)

• Hold baby like you would burp them
• Baby will be on opposite shoulder of sling fabric that is resting on your shoulder
• Open up fabric so you feel that one side of the fabric is against your chest and the other you are holding on to
• Place baby's bum inside aligned with seam, then tuck legs inside
• Gently place baby's head in between the fabric on inside of pouch
• Play with sling some if baby wants to see out.
• You can bring fabric that is closest to your chest higher up so pouch is more shallow
• Here is an example
• Baby is not too deep in pouch and is able to see out. Baby's back is aligned in a straight, upright position
• 

Kangaroo Carry

• Padding is on outside, baby will be on opposite shoulder of fabric
• Start by gently crossing baby's legs to fit into pouch in a sitting position
• Seam is more centered on your body
• Baby's legs will go in crossed or in Indian style
• Make sure baby is totally enveloped in fabric

Tummy-to-tummy Carry. Taking a baby out of the sling.

• Padding on outside of sling
• Feel fabric from underneath and get baby's legs secured in fabric
• Help baby cross their legs in sitting position
•

• Gently push on baby's head/back away from pouch
• Hold on to baby
• Expunge!

Reversing the sling and using it with toddlers.

• Padding is pictured on outside here and needs to be reversed for the toddler carry
• Bring corner of smaller rail towards you from inside
• Padding is now on inside ready for the toddler carry and tie will show on the outside

• With one hand, hold fabric at the knees and bring fabric that is at toddler's back up
• Knees will be elevated higher than bum for optimal comfort
• Bring fabric higher at back for more security

• Bring infant/toddler closer to your body by doing the shoulder flip

Back carry. Taking a toddler out.

• Gently get a hold of fabric and bounce toddler to shift to your back

• Hold on to padding and pull out

Rolling up your sling...

• Padding should be on inside
• Padding will rest side by side of each other

Too big... Shoulder slippage... Rolled-up fabric... Scrunched at the neck... Is my sling too small?

• This one is definitely too big...
• So big, it is slipping off my shoulders.
• Make sure that it does not roll at the back...
• or scrunch up at your neck. The sling should be cupped on your shoulder.
• If you feel that your sling is uncomfortably tight, painful or there is just no way you can fit your baby inside, then it may be too small. But is your sling really small? The next example shows that you can fit a 30-pound toddler in what seems to be a small pouch. This is clearly an exaggeration...
